Last night we met our friends Becca and Ryan and their daughter Gracyn for dinner at the local pizza joint. Gracyn has done this high pitched scream for months and Belén seems to be learning it from her. They were communicating through screams, it was lovely. Toward the end of the meal, Ryan and Andy had the babies out in the street while Becca and I finished our conversation. We are very lucky to have the engaged husbands/daddies that we do.
Another new habit from the little chicky is sucking her thumb. She must be getting close to teething because she is constantly drooling and sucking on her thumb or really anything she can get near her mouth. I believe this is called the “oral” stage. I have been trying to discourage the thumb sucking by pulling it out of her mouth but it usually goes right back in.

I cannot recall how much of the daycare mini-drama I shared but the update is that Aubrey (one year older than Belén) finally moved up to the “ones” class and Belén now has her own crib. Not that she sleeps in it that often as she is a horrible nap taker and often wakes up the other kids so she has to go away for awhile with another teacher. She is a trouble maker already. I don’t get how she can be so bad at taking naps yet such a good sleeper at night, but we will take it! There is also a new girl at daycare as of this week, Kaya. She is older than Belén, but much smaller as she was a premie. It is so fun to pick her up at the end of the day. The kids are all so adorable.
