Before you read this post, let me warn you that it is a bit over the top and I am going to gush over our gorgeous child, like all parents do in private, but the smart ones don’t in a public setting. Our parents and sisters all say this so at least it is not just the immediate parents being ridiculous. Okay here goes.
This is a true story. Now when I see tv shows or commercials with babies in them, 9 times out of 10…or maybe 10 times out of 10, I will have to pay attention…the thought that passes into my head is, “wow, that baby is not nearly as cute as my child.” Then I proceed down a path of wondering if we should have tried to get our baby into the movies and turned her into the next baby acting prodigy like the Olsen twins. When you start that young, you don’t even have to have talent, just be cute enough that people oogle over you and say, “ka-yoooot” every time they see you.
As I was running with my sister this morning, she reassured me that we are not missing out on at least fortune (but perhaps still fame) by keeping Belén out of Hollywood because apparently most of the babies in commercials get paid very little money because the parents are just trying to get their kids seen. Maybe our baby would be so cute they would want to pay money just to retain her so she didn’t swith from being a Pampers model to a Babys R Us model. It is possible.
Okay, back down to earth.
I admit, I really thought all of these things today. I know, I am embarrassed to admit it. In reality, I recognize Belén is one of a few thousand super cute babies in this world, but I am convinced she is cuter than most of them I have seen on tv lately. Seriously, look at that face.
