While this may sound like a bar in Hogsmeade that is too R-rated for Harry Potter and his friends to visit, this is, in fact, the latest situation at the Hoobing household. Ever since Belén was sick last weekend, her feedings have been more frequent and she is eating less. This fact coupled with still not feeling and acting 100% has led her to waking up mid-night fussing and wanting to eat. Last night it was 3:30am. It made today pretty brutal, especially since she feeds for long enough that I get completely awake, so much so that I ended up doing laundry around 4am. Tonight I supplemented her pre-bedtime feeding with a bottle left over from today at grandmas in hopes that she will get back to her typical schedule of sleeping through the night. The night-time feedings CANNOT continue.
The extra feedings coupled with a tendency to get distracted by ANYTHING causing her to turn her head with nipple still locked in mouth, thus pulling and stretching nipple (great visual image, eh?) has led to the first description in tonight’s blog title.
So basically, we are nearly six months into this baby thing and we have regressed to about week one as far as nipples and sleeping are concerned. It is not that bad, I am exaggerating, but I do find the regression ironic.
I hope now that she seems to be feeling more like herself again, we return to our modus operandi of a week ago!
