When it was our turn, I gave her to Santa and wondered how the sleepy girl would handle a strange man with a red hat and white beard.

In lieu of the typical prayer, Ray, Andy’s dad, gave the prayer. He went around the table and expressed why he was thankful for each one of us. At first I thought I might be successful in fending off the tears, but by the time he got to my dad, I recognized it was going to be impossible. By the time he made it to Andy, Eileen had added a box of Kleenix to the crowded table and we were all dabbing our eyes.

For one, we have a lifetime of photos to take of Belén and theoretical child number two. We love to travel which compounds the need for good photos. Finally, I am investing more and more time and effort into this blog and what I have found in all of the other blogs I read is some pretty amazing photography. So, lets call it day zero of Alecia learning how to be a better photographer. I took these photos of Belén eating yesterday. My lesson of the day (from Andy) was how to adjust the flash to get the desired amount of light.

The wonderful food and wine from date night, coupled with the baby singing over the baby monitor woke me up early in the morning making my run with my friend Michelle difficult.
