I know, ever since I started breastfeeding, I talk about milk way too much. First I produced too much, then I worried about producing too little, plus all of the talk about pumping and then pumping and dumping and squirting it all over the house…enough already! Today’s topic is milk, but not my own milk. According to the baby sign language DVD that Belén and I have been watching, this is the sign…sort of like you are milking a cow or human for that matter.
I am here to tell you about a wonderful service that now exists in our hometown, Boise called Boise Milk which you can find at boisemilk.com We have been ordering not only locally produced skim milk that tastes more like 2% (it is fantastic!) but also locally produced yogurt, baked bread and eggs. So not only is it organic but it is produced locally. Ever since I started reading Animal, Vegetable, Miracle (and haven’t stopped since my book reading velocity is about -34 right now), I have greatly appreciated buying locally and plan to make a continued effort to do more of it in the future. Here is what showed up on our doorstep this morning as it does once a week.

For those of you who are not Boiseans, I hope there is something similar in your area. If not, what a fantastic business idea!

Wow that’s so awesome. I’m looking into it now. This would be something good for us.

We used to do Boise Milk and kept forgetting about it in the summer, leaving the milk in the sun to spoil. UGH! Anyway, we need to reinvoke the service now that it’s winter. Either that, or start remembering it’s there. We loved it!
