I was really disappointed that I had to work both Saturday and Sunday last weekend. I truly treasure my weekend time with both Alecia and Belén. When I came into the office yesterday I ran into my acting manager and she said, “So you are not coming in tomorrow… correct?” I was a little surprised, but truly appreciative to have the opportunity to take a “comp day” for my weekend work.

The first thought that came to my mind was that I get to spend the whole day with Belén. The second thought was that her and I were going to have an “adventure.” I want Belén to grow up exploring the world around her, and to not be afraid of going new places and seeing new things.

So here is Belén’s story of today’s events:

"I want to chase monkey's and giraffes!"

"I want to chase monkey's and giraffes!"

"You mean it dad? We can really go looking for giraffes and monkeys?"

"You mean it dad? We can really go looking for giraffes and monkeys?"

"I need lots of energy to chase monkey's and giraffes!"

"I need lots of energy to chase monkey's and giraffes!"

"You see dad, the internet has all sorts of information on monkey's and giraffes."

"You see dad, the internet has all sorts of information on monkey's and giraffes."

"Looks like we might run into some tigers too!"

"Looks like we might run into some tigers too!"

"The Mac says highs in the low 40's!"

"The Mac says highs in the low 40's with lots of sun. I better put on my long underwear."

"Um, dad... these are still a little bit big!"

"Um, dad... these are still a little bit big!"

"You know dad, I could wear my white bear suit, and the animals will think I am one of them!"

"You know dad, I could wear my white bear suit, and the animals will think I am one of them!"

"I am all ready to go. My suit is perfect. "

"I am all ready to go. My suit is perfect. "

"All right dad. You do the walking and I will do the looking. Lets roll!"

"All right dad. You do the walking and I will do the looking. Lets roll!"

"I don't see any monkey's or giraffes yet. Go faster daddy!"

"I don't see any monkey's or giraffes yet. Go faster daddy!"

"Um dad... you're slowing down."

"Um dad... you're slowing down."

"Look dad! Monkey tracks!"

"Look dad! Monkey tracks!""YES! There is a monkey!"

"YES! There is a monkey!"

"YES! There is a monkey!"

"If I wait here long enough, I am sure a giraffe will cross this bridge."

"If I wait here long enough, I am sure a giraffe will cross this bridge."

"This will have to do for my giraffe."

"This will have to do for my giraffe."

Wow, thanks for the great adventure!
