It has been a heck of a year. 2009 started with wedding festivities for my sister, Anna and her now husband, Derik. On April 28, 2009, Belén Rose entered our lives and changed them forever! I cannot believe so much wonderful change can happen in one year.

The amazing part of this game is that it is a bowl game and Idaho is in it. The football team last year was almost literally LAST PLACE with a 2-10 record. So we are proud of the progress that has been made this year. We are on a comeback and will soon beat BSU! Sorry, I had to throw that out there. Maybe that will get some comments. ;)

It looks daunting so I think I need to recruit others to read it with me. Here is a thought. What about if we take up War and Peace as a book club-type book for 2010. That breaks the book down into approximately 150 pages a month, max

The problem now is that I feel like I cannot move forward with any photo editing because there is too much to learn and I know NOTHING. I thought I knew more before I bought this book. And Andy is sick on the couch with a nasty head cold so I don’t want to bug him with questions.

I shocked Andy by making dinner tonight. Since we have been watching Mad Men, he keeps trying to say things like “When you go to the store, you can get X.” or “Why don’t you go upstairs and get me a drink.” and “What are we having for dinner?” mostly just to see my reaction. I was so inspired by the organized kitchen that I whipped up a dinner out of items in the freezer and some bell peppers that were close to going bad. It was by no means because of his 1960s era suggestions.

Everyone was able to see Belén before she went to bed. After that, the wine started flowing and the conversation became lively. We stayed away from the controversial topics like politics and focused on things like heifers and Deep Throat. Don’t ask.

Notify Santa We Were All Good This Year – A lump of coal, like absolutely EVERYTHING she can get her hands on would go directly into Belén’s mouth!

In case you have not already had your fill for 2009, here is more about me with my answers to the Great Interview Experiment questions. Thanks to Neil at Citizen of the Month for the idea and for the fabulous interview by Fran from A Mother’s Angst.

When my name was called, I walked down the makeshift aisle in the football stadium turned ceremonial meeting place in my black gown to receive my college diploma. For years to come, I would have dreams that I had signed up for a class that I forgot to attend and wake up thinking it had never really happened…I hadn’t really graduated. The fact that in three days I could not dig up a photo proving it did take place made me start to wonder again. But it is true, on this day, almost exactly ten years ago, I graduated from the University of Idaho with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a minor in Mathematics.

Belén’s tongue is working overtime to figure out what to do with the sprouting tooth in her mouth. Andy took this video on his Droid phone this morning as I worked on getting her to giggle.
