Spoiler Alert for anyone who wants to watch Mad Men Season One but hasn’t yet.  This post deals with the final episode from Season One, so stop reading NOW!

A lot of things happened in the final episode (which originally aired October 18, 2007) but the biggest shocker was what happened to Peggy Olson, Don Draper’s secretary.

Peggy had been gaining weight the entire season and it did cross my mind that she could be pregnant.  What I never would have guessed was that she was far enough along to GO INTO LABOR without even knowing she was pregnant.  I mean, seriously.  How could you possibly go through an entire pregnancy without even knowing you were pregnant?

I understand there is an entire series TLC series about  women who didn’t know they were pregnant.  While I understand there are probably some  extenuating circumstances where this might be possible, it is SO beyond me how you could be so out of tune with your body that you grew an entire, MOVING, child for nine months without realizing it.  Am I being insensitive for not understanding how this is possible?
