It was a “rest” run this weekend of only one and half hours of running. Next weekend is two hours forty minutes so we were thrilled that it was not next weekend yet. It is funny though because the “rest” runs always seem to feel harder than the long runs. There must be some psychological reason for that but I am not quite sure what it is.
It always amazes me that within four miles of running, starting from our house, we can be seeing (and smelling) this.

And this.

And seriously, who knew that llamas and bulls could be in the same fenced area. I bet that llama sleeps with one eye open.
Despite being challenging, thanks to the pleasant company of Anna and Erin and the much needed blow-off-steam-factor, these runs are becoming a highlight of my week.

How long would it take you from your home to get to to a field with a bull in it? Bonus points if the field has a llama too.

The llama and bull look so lovely in your pictures, especially the llama. I think it’s the first time I see these animals. Maybe I’ve seen them in the zoo but can’t remember clearly
It is funny because before living in China, I would have never thought to share a picture of a bull and a llama because I would have thought it would be terribly uninteresting to most people. After living in China, I realize those things about my life which may seem common and mundane are quite different from how people live on the other side of the globe. I am glad you enjoyed the animals!
Wow not sure how far I would have to run to see a bull and a llama in San Diego. My guess is about 20 to 30 miles at least. I know I can go about 20 miles and see an Ostrich farm where you can buy ostrich eggs. Not really sure what you do with the eggs….eat them? Yuck! Where is that bull in Boise? What road are you running on?
