The Great Pearl Giveaway

I have been alluding to a contest on this blog for quite awhile now and it is time for the official unveiling.  I kept waiting for everything to be perfect on my blog, all of the posts from the old blog copied over (check), a new look (check, almost, a few more tweaks), a cool logo for the giveaway (still TBD)…but I decided it may be August until all of these things are complete so perfect is going by the wayside.  As we say in project management land, scope is sacrificed for schedule.

I attempted to find a model for the prize.

She was too wiggly so then I tried something more sedentary.

It wasn’t exactly the look I was going for so yet another pose.

But when I think of a long strand of white, fresh water pearls, I always think of this person as well as a girl I met in a bar in Shanghai who got me started on the trend.  Although Carrie’s strand is shorter than the ones I am giving away.

But, I think you get the picture.

Here is how the giveaway works.  I will give away a long strand of fresh water pearls to one lucky commenter on my blog.  I will randomly choose a comment on a post dating between January 1, 2010 and November 30, 2010.  The person who wrote the comment will win the pearls.  What that means to you is the more comments you leave equals a higher chance of winning the lovely pearls.  Think of each comment as an entry into the contest.  Oh and if the comment author chosen by the random number generator is me, I will draw again until it is someone who is not me who I have a way to contact (leave your blog URL or email address).

I need to figure out some incentive for if you tweet about this giveaway or mention it on your blog but that is part of the list of things I haven’t figured out yet.  I will be eternally grateful even though I don’t have a prize figured out yet.

Ladies and gentlemen, start your commenting.

while Belen looks beautiful with the pearls, the toy pearl shot is actually quite brilliant from a photographic perspective. maybe you have a second career as a jewelry stylist waiting in the wings?
