Yesterday I almost pulled the literal plug on pumping. I was so close to just eating my lunch and not lugging my pump and refigerated bag to the bathroom to hook myself up to the sucker one more time.
Belén is used to formula and has it most days while at daycare. Her breastfeeding is relegated to mornings and nights and even at that, I notice she is starting to drink less and less. My instinct is to pump more to capture the extra milk she is not drinking…but then I look at her standing on her own two feet, smiling at me with a toothy grin and think, “This kid might be <almost> done breastfeeding.”
Right before bed, I think she likes the comfort of the teet to wind down and fall asleep. Depending on how tired she is in the morning, she may or may not revel in/demand it.
But we are clearly approaching our swan song of the breastfeeding chapter. Mommy nor baby are 100% ready to give it up…but we are close. Which means I could stop pumping any day. Any day…like today…or tomorrow.

As a breastfeeding SAHM, I am just in AWE of women who take the time to lug around their pumps to work. Congratulations on doing it for this long… it truly is a feat of which you should be proud.

It is one of those things you just do…you know. Sort of like your college degree. You look back on it and wonder how you put in all of the time/work you did, but wouldn’t want to have to do it over again. I will be very glad to be done pumping but the breastfeeding will be bittersweet!

I was so glad to be done pumping. But I missed nursing when it finally ended. You have done a great job staying dedicated!
