Grammy captured this moment while watching Belén last Friday. I love how B squints anticipating the flash, non realizing the camera is in video mode.

Finally, on the discovery side, she quite the walker and explorer. She is mostly brave but is starting to be afraid of a few things, most recently horses and small dogs. This fear manifests itself with blood curling scream that would scare any parent.

The deeper the hole, the better the wine. It is probably not an absolute scale though as the wine I am drinking at the moment is quite good and it’s hole wasn’t very deep.

Andy and I took to spending the remainder of the evening on our hotel balcony which overlooked the quiet side of the hotel, some palm trees as well as caged parrots and tigers. We spent the time on our balcony talking, relaxing and appreciating some of the fine, beer, wine and tequila that Mexico has to offer (usually not all three in the same night.) We also quickly discovered the local cigar shop which sold both Mexican and Cuban cigars.

Dear Baby is a new addition to my RSS reader. She has a post today that I so completely resonate with that I am sharing with all of you busy parents/people to read. Click here to read about the “Impossible Task of Getting It All Done” and make sure to read the comments.

I cannot believe I am going to do this, but I am going to talk about milk, ONE MORE TIME. That’s it. Other than making a mention of when Belén is 100% on cow milk, I promise not to talk about milk again for the rest of the year. Do you ever find yourself in a conversation about something and take a moment to view the conversation from the outside rather than simply participate in it? While doing that, do you ever hear yourself talking and get annoyed with yourself? That is TOTALLY how I feel about writing another milk most, the third in one week, in fact. If I am annoying myself, I must be annoying all of you. But…I know there are a couple of soon-to-be weaners (what a great name!) so alas, despite my annoyance, I forge ahead…but it will be short.

My mom and dad’s house has wonderful lighting. As I was sitting there this afternoon facing Belén on the couch, I was thrilled to see that it captured the color of her eyes. They are SO BIG AND BLUE but usually this does not come through in pictures. I grabbed my iPhone and with Hipstamatic captured this.

Being the overachiever I am, we are working hard on all six vectors. I used to strive to do things like get my MBA and become a project manager and run a 50K. Now I strive to drink from sippy cups full time. Funny how that is.

Belén likes the Nuby sippy cups we have been using for awhile now, but she doesn’t love them and they most often end up on the floor fairly quickly. This weekend while grocery shopping, I bought two new types of sippy cups at the grocery store, a taller version of the Nuby and a Dora sippy cup with a straw (Amalah and others recommend the straw kind for oral development.)

When I look at our answers which I will get to in a second, I realize they have changed a lot over the years. When we used to have our meals delivered when we were first married, it would have likely been breakfast items like oatmeal or bread of beverages such as milk. Certainly when I was breastfeeding it would have been milk storage bags and then when Belén first started eating solids, things like avocados and bananas would have done the trick.

I apologize if this is old news, but it was new to me.  I don’t really watch much TV and my RSS reader was sorely neglected this week.  Have you seen the Huggies diapers that look like jeans?  Apparently this is a topic of debate amongst the mommy bloggers of the world. I think it’s [...]
