Okay TMI fans, I’m back. You know the drill. If you are not interested in knowing the gory details of being a woman who has gone through childbirth, stop reading NOW.
I promised no more milk posts this year but I didn’t say I would stop talking about boobs. This may not be a newsflash to all of you. In the days of the red tent, certainly all of us women would have known this, but I missed the memo since I was out swimming and traveling during my monthly bleed and never had this female wisdom passed onto me.
Until I was having a conversation with my friend I will call Sharon awhile back. Somehow the topic was boobs for whatever reason (I promise if you run into me on the street the first topic I bring up will not be boobs) and she brought up the fact that after breastfeeding three babies for a year each, even years later her nipples are still hard, PERMANENTLY. I was horrified. No braless Sundays without it being obvious ever again?

Now I am here to add my data to this topic. After only one year of breastfeeding, while they don’t meld into themselves like they used to making an incognito braless day possible as long as not inside a frigid building, I am definitely not screaming out that the “chicken’s done” all the time if you know what I mean. I have no data nor can I find any data on how many collective months of breastfeeding it takes until those suckers are just permanently out there like you had a boob job (I heard they always stay hard after a boob job, does anyone know if that is true?) but I am very curious to know.
Anyway, as always, I would love it others have more data/details on this abstract concept. I finally get what 15 year-old boys knew from the get go…boobs really are so fascinating.

Women who have had a mastectomy who later get reconstructive surgery have this same problem. They will always be alert because of the skin graft that they receive for the peak of the mountain.
Just another random bit of info for you.

Nursed two kids. Don’t have this particular problem. Other post-nursing boob problems I do have, but not this one.
I can still do bra-less (but my husband doesn’t like it). Neener, neener.
