I am excited for today.  I am doing my weekly bike ride half way up Bogus Basin Road with my dad, sister, father in-law and sister in-law, then my friends are taking me to lunch and to see Eat, Pray, Love (liked the book, love Julia Roberts, how can it NOT be good?) for an early birthday gift.  To cap it off, we are getting family phographs.

The last part, the taking family photographs, I would not say I am exactly excited about.  Our family has A LOT of photos taken at nearly every event so I am not entirely sure if a “formal” session is necessary but Tamara is doing them so I am sure they will be way better than anything we have ever come up with on our own.  And besides, when my mom asks for a posed picture (almost.every.single.time.we.see.each.other), it often turns out like this.

My sister and I aren’t really that big of brats, only when my mom asks for posed pictures.  We really should be nicer daughters but I think you can see where we get it.

My poor mom.  This picture is sort of legendary around our family because it is my mom’s “disappointed look” captured in 1′s and 0′s.

So you can see why I was nervous about having a girl.  Paybacks are a bitch!

I hope your family pictures went well. Over the 4th we had the family photo opportunity with 8 adults and 3 girls under the age of 1. My mom chose the classic color white to get our pictures in – yes all of us in white except the 3 little girls got the cutest Independence Day outfits. It was nice knowing what we needed to wear and not stressing about everything we could have worn since we only got 1 choice really. BUT – I think it would have looked better if we at least had a few more options than just white. In the end, it’s always nice to have the professional photographs.
