A stylish, high quality jewelry line sold in homes at an affordable price point. It is delivered in cute little boxes directly to your door within a few days of ordering. The celebs are wearing it. The gorgeous pieces are all over the fashion magazines. And yet the company is in it’s infancy giving new stylists a chance to get in on the ground floor. The most successful venture capital firm in Silicon Valley, Sequoia, (think Apple, Google, PayPal, Zappos) is an investor and the business model is sound. Essentially Stella & Dot is combining e-commerce and direct sales and taking it to the next level creating the future of social commerce. It is really so exciting!

So pursuing my passions. The first step to pursuing them is figuring out what they are. I mean it is fairly obvious; I love exercise, travel, writing, accessorizing, learning new things, sailing, wine, chocolate and a handful of other things but which of these things can I turn into a career and how do I do it?

I opened my eyes and ears and began to realize there were actually quite a few opportunities to write, although most of them are for free. I began guest blogging as opportunities presented themselves and started my gig as the Traveling Mom of Toddlers.

But this has not been enough. I have this nagging idea for a book, good or bad, I know I must write.

One thing having a baby does, without a doubt is make you reevaluate your priorities. Suddenly your busy schedule has to accommodate this new little person who you are head-over-heels infatuated with and immediately consider your top priority.

I spent a lot of time on my maternity leave thinking about what is important to me as well as what I am passionate about. As I thought this through, I quickly began to realize I was treating my passions as hobbies and the job I would soon go back to was just that, a job. Luckily it is a great job, which I enjoy, but if I am going to be honest to myself, it is not my passion.

Today was Boise’s Dirty Dash. It is the first time I have done this race and it was a lot of fun! Ten kilometers of running, hiking, crawling through muddy tunnels, climbing over stacks of hay bales, scaling muddy walls, jumping through tire obstacles, pounding a Natty Light at the top of the long climb [...]

Folks, she is mobile!  Life is forever changed…again!

This past weekend we had the opportunity to travel back east to New England and explore some charming little Massachusetts towns. I was imagining every New England town to be a Stars Hollow replica (the fictional Connecticut town in the Gilmore Girls) but was surprised to learn each town varied quite a bit. Some had downtown shopping areas, others didn’t. Some had coffee shops, others had witch shops. Some housed famous ponds (Walden Pond) while others claimed home to the American Revolution.

So apparently I have a lot more to say about traveling with kids than I realized. Here is my latest post over at TravelingMoms.com about how to pack for your toddler when going on vacation. Enjoy and please do share any other tips you have!

I know you’ve heard them…the tails of horrible travel experiences with children. In fact, I told one myself not too long ago. Or maybe you have been the recipient of the ear piercing scream of a child in 12D or (like me on my way to India) been kicked repeatedly in 26F by the misbehaved boy in 27F while the oblivious parent in 27E could care less.

My mom found this adorable western skirt on their recent trip to Montana. In true Nana fashion, she made Eloise a matching skirt and shirt and brought them over for the girls to try on.

I thought it was an appropriate occasion to bring out the stick horse Nana and Papa had given to Belén for Christmas but she had been scared of since.
