Mini Adventure Monday: Head Lamp Adventure

I can tell that Mini Adventure Monday is going to be very needed throughout these winter months as it is not even mid-November and we already have cabin fever.  It probably has a little to do with the fact the kids have been taking turns being sick.  On top of that, their nap times are completely out-of-synch which leads to a Saturday consisting of “Waking up time” as Belén calls it, Eloise nap time, both kids up for two hours, Eloise naps again, Eloise wakes up,  Belén takes her nap,  Belén wakes up, Eloise goes down for another nap.  Um ya, fun Saturday.  Mini-adventures are becoming a necessity!

Question: What do you do with a whiny, hungry toddler while dinner is baking?

Answer: Take her/him on a head lamp adventure in the backyard.

All that is needed is a winter coat, a flashlight and a sense of adventure and a typically painful part of the evening suddenly becomes fun and something your child looks forward to.  Try it!  I was surprised how excited B was for her 20 minute backyard adventure.
