We are back from Belize and thankfully reunited with our kids. When I say thankfully, I mean thankfully for the parts during the day. I could honestly outsource dealing with them waking up at night to the highest bidder, or I guess I should say, the most competent care.
Needless to say, it was SOOO nice sleeping in until 9am every day while we were in Belize, except for the day when we went snorkeling with sharks and stingrays at 8am, which I am still amazed we did. Encounters with mama grizzly and her cubs one week followed by swimming with sharks the next. I figured I might as well confront some of my biggest fears while on vacation.
Since I had my laptop with me, I have all of the photos edited and uploaded to flickr, which means I will actually get to the blog posts fairly quickly. I am attempting not to jump back into my pre-vacation, way-too-much-on-my-plateness so I will give myself a few days to share the posts from both Yellowstone and Belize. I promise to start before the mosquito bites quit itching. I am also kicking around the idea of trying to write a book because Belize offered up the perfect setting for a mystery…so there’s that.
Yesterday we spent getting reunited with our sweet girls and went for a family hike. Weezy would not let me leave her side (which led to being awake from 1-3am Sunday) as I think she was afraid I would leave again. Hopefully she is not scarred for life.
The girls had a great time staying with their grandmas. Sometime between when we left and returned, Eloise turned into an expert walker. She falls a couple of times in this video because the shoes Belén chose for her are too big.
It was a much needed break from everything back home and even more desperately needed time together as a couple, but it is so nice to be able to snuggle up with our lovelies once again.
