Twelve Year Anniversary

This year our wedding anniversary coincides with Easter. Friday night we celebrated by getting a babysitter and hitting the town. While dining over flank steak and a glass of the restaurant’s finest Bordeaux blend, we remembered out loud some of our favorite moments over the past twelve years.

Starting with when our eyes met down the aisle of St. Mary’s Church twelve years ago.

Stanford Executive Education

Upon arrival to the Bay Area, I took a shuttle to Standford University and checked into their Graduate School of Business for a full week of intense education to further myself as an innovative technology leader. Along with 50 or so other colleagues from across our business and around the globe, we stayed in the GSB dorms for the week discussing case studies, learning, reading, studying, debating, theorizing, listening, networking, eating amazing food, drinking and experiencing what it might be like to be a Stanford graduate student (with some additional wining and dining.)

Maintenance and Updated 2013 Resolutions

My plan is to improve the WIP problem slowly but surely throughout the year and leave 2013 as an agile person/family ready for anything. There is a lot of work between now and then to get to that point, but I think it is going to be worth it. The hardest part is going to be not taking on new things before the WIP is fixed. I’m going to need you all to keep me honest…and actually even since I started writing this post a couple of weeks ago, I have already taken something new on…but it is an opportunity I cannot pass up, otherwise I wouldn’t increase the WIP.

Tell Me About Your Day

One of the things I find most amazing as a parent is when you see your children emulating something you do. All at once you realize that your every gesture, every word, every reaction is serving as a model for one of the most important people in your life.

Learning to Ski

Now that Bogus Basin has its 2014 Season Passes on sale for $229, three of us in the family now have season passes.  The past two weekends we have made the 16-mile journey to our local ski resort to test our luck with snow and gravity. Last weekend didn’t turn out so well.  On our [...]
